This intensive class is focused on self rescue with an introduction to victim rescue. Topics covered: PPE, river hydrology, basic swimming skills, basic victim rescue skills and basic rope rescue systems in the river. The class is taught over three days with one day of classroom and two days of field training. The prerequisites are a basic swimming ability and ability to follow directions. This class is a physically demanding class with extensive swimming in cold water. The class continues rain or shine, so dress appropriately.
